MPG_KRAMER_ELAINE4/10/12 - A few maps that track the spring migration to summer breeding grounds of our two adult female Golden Eagles (MPG and “Elaine”) and one adult male “Kramer” (fall migration from banding in MT to Arkansas, spring migration Arkansas to AK). The two adult females both wintered in Montana (MPG eagle in Bitterroot Valley and Elaine in the Paradise Valley). One of the eagles “Elaine” has given us two full years of data and shows a strong fidelity to her winter grounds and migration routes. Interesting that these two adult females that wintered here in Montana both summer in the northern reaches of AK near the Brooks Mountain Range. Kramer wintered down in Arkansas, which may have been the last state that any of us on this project would have predicted as a wintering ground destination.
